Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Open East Flyover on April 1

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II will operate the East Flyover or Little Semanggi Flyover on Monday, April 1. Due to the operation of the flyover, traffic to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport via North Perimeter and South Perimeter would be diverted to East Flyover or Little Semanggi.

East Flyover is the route that connects access to and from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport through the North Perimeter and South Perimeter via the Main Bridge.

"East Flyover will be operational on April 1, 2024, we understand that road and traffic diversion may cause inconvenience to road users," said the Senior Manager of Branch Communication & Legal, M. Holik Muardi, in a written statement on Saturday, March 30.

According to Holik, the operation of the East Flyover was a response to the increase in the volume of traffic and to smooth the way to the airport. He urged motorists to pay attention to the direction and traffic regulations set during the road diversion.

"We are disseminating the traffic and road diversion to and from the airport through banners at various locations and through Soekarno-Hatta's social media so that the public is aware of the route change," Holik said. "We hope that people can adapt to the road diversion." 

The following are the road diversions and closures at Soekarno-Hatta Airport:

1. Traffic Diversion
   Traffic to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport via the south and north perimeters should use the detour routes that have been set up.

• Route of North Perimeter to Soekarno-Hatta Airport: North Perimeter – East Flyover – South Perimeter – South Post 25 – South Diagonal – Jalan P1
• Route of South Perimeter to Soekarno-Hatta Airport: South Perimeter Selatan – South Post 25 – South Diagonal – Jalan P1
• Route of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to North Perimete: Jalan P2 – North Diagonal – North Perimeter 
• Route of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to South Perimeter: Jalan P2 – North Diagonal – North U-turn – East Flyover – South Perimeter
• Route of North Perimeter to South Perimeter: North Perimeter – East Flyover - South Perimeter
• Route of South Perimeter to North Perimeter: South Perimeter – South Post 25 – East Flyover - North Perimeter 

2. Road Closures

U-turn access from Jalan P2 to Jalan P1 will be closed. Vehicles making a U-turn from Jalan P2 can use the following route: Jalan P2 - North Diagonal - North Loop - East Flyover - Post 25 South - South Diagonal - P1 Road etc.
