TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia national football team defeated Vietnam in the second round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the Asian zone on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. The match at the My Dinh International Stadium in Hanoi, ended with a score of 3-0.

The first of Indonesia's three goals was scored by Jay Idzes in the 9th minute from a corner kick by Thom Haye. The second goal was scored by Ragnar Oratmangoen from a free kick in the 23rd minute. The winning goal for Indonesia was scored by Ramadhan Sananta in the 97th minute.

2. Indonesia, Cambodia Eye Potential Infrastructure Cooperation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Santo Darmosumarto, met the Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transportation, H.E. Peng Ponea, on Friday, March 22, 2024, in Phnom Penh. 

The meeting took place just two weeks after the bilateral meeting between President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Hun Manet on the sidelines of the ASEAN – Australia Special Summit in Melbourne on 5 March 2024, where the two leaders exchanged views on the potential cooperation in infrastructure and connectivity.

3. Vietnam Ends Contract with Coach Troussier After Loss to Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and coach Phillipe Troussier agreed to part ways following a string of disappointing results for the Vietnam national team.

The latest was a 3-0 defeat to Indonesia on Tuesday, March 26 at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi in the second round of the Asian qualifying competition for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
