TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md., claimed to be ready to hear the 2024 election results. Ganjar said he had prepared many things, including the legal team.
He said he would follow the procedure to challenge the election results at the Constitutional Court (MK). “It’s just a matter of timing. We will inform it later,” he said at the GAMA Command Post in Menteng, Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Wednesday, March 20.
Ganjar and Mahfud attended an iftar gathering with volunteers at the post while monitoring the General Elections Commission's (KPU) announcement on the presidential election results. The former governor of Central Java asked volunteers to maintain good relations and spirit.
He hoped that the volunteers would provide data, facts, and evidence related to the truth of the election, and asked the public to encourage them to do so.
Todung Mulya Lubis, the Legal Deputy for the Ganjar-Mahfud Campaign Team (TPN), said they are ready to submit a petition for the 2024 election results dispute case (PHPU) case to the MK.
“We have prepared our petition with evidence, witnesses, and experts that we will submit,” Todung said.
He claimed that the team would submit the petition on the last day of the registration period for such an election dispute. He also said that at least 30 witnesses will be called to testify in the hearing, including ten experts. “But it will be up to the Constitutional Court to accept all the witnesses or not. We have 10 expert witnesses,” he said.
