TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 01 Anies Baswedan refuses to comment on the results of the 2024 election’s vote recapitulation. Anies Baswedan and his running partner Muhaimin Iskandar only lead in Aceh and West Sumatra out of the 29 provinces that have completed the recapitulation process.
"We will see the results as a whole," Anies said when asked by the media crew after Friday prayers at the Dian Al Mahri Mosque in Depok.
The pair received 1,744,042 votes out of a total of 3,128,346 voters in West Sumatra. Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming took second place with 1,217,314 votes followed by Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md with 124,044 votes.
In Aceh, Anies-Muhaimin garnered 2,369,534 votes out of a total of 3,221,235 voters. Prabowo-Gibran received 787,024 votes, while Ganjar-Mahfud only received 64,677 votes.
Anies said this year’s presidential election was marred with intervention and money politics. "We want the people to have the freedom to choose without pressure and payment, without reward," he said.
"Second, the election must not littered with state intervention or money politics,” said Anies.
When asked about the latest development of the election dispute, Anies informed that the Anies-Muhaimin winning team is still discussing the matter. "We are still compiling findings on the ground," said Anies.
