TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Capt. M. Yusuf, 29 years old, pilot of the crashed Pilatus PC-6 Porter PK-SNE aircraft owned by Smart Aviation, was found safe in Binuang, Nunukan on Sunday, October 10, 2024. However, the aircraft mechanic was found dead.
"The pilot is safe but a mechanic passed away," said the head of Ba Binuang Village, Kalvin Daud Ipid, when contacted from Tarakan on Sunday, March 10.
He said that the victims were evacuated with a helicopter to Tarakan.
The Smart Aviation crash victims, Capt. M Yusuf (29) is from South Bekasi and the mechanic Deni. S (35) was from Pangandaran.
An aircraft owned by Smart Aviation reportedly lost contact from Juwata International Airport in Tarakan on Friday, March 8 at 08:25 Central Indonesia Time (WITA) heading to Binuang, Krayan, Nunukan at 09:25 (WITA).
The pioneer plane was carrying 21 groceries weighing 583 kilograms. These include 25 kilograms of sugar, toothpaste, coffee, and candy.
