TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Campaign spokesperson of Greenpeace Indonesia Rio Rompas claimed that the smart forest city concept hailed by the Nusantara Capital City or IKN is “a mere cosplay”. The development, Rio said, faced bigger environmental threats than advertised.

“So, the government’s claims that 70 percent of IKN is a green area with a smart forest city concept is a mere cosplay, since the threats are in fact, bigger,” he told Tempo, quoted on Monday.

2. Deforestation Affects Four Key Animals in Aceh, Including Sumatran Elephants

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Aceh Conservation and Natural Resources Agency (BKSDA) assesses that deforestation has caused wildlife in the forest of Aceh to become increasingly isolated.

"Deforestation caused habitat fragmentation on key animals so they become isolated," said Aceh BKSDA Forestry Police Coordinator, Rahmat, as quoted by Antara in Banda Aceh on Monday, March 4, 2024.
