PPP Welcomes Opportunity to Join Prabowo-Gibran's Government; PDIP Responds

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPDIP (The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) Politician Chico Hakim responded to PPP’s (The United Development Party) head of election agency Sandiaga Uno which welcomed the opportunity to join Prabowo-Gibran’s administration.

“Concerning other parties’ support (to Prabowo-Gibran), it depends on the relevant parties,” he said via WhatsApp on Monday.

Meanwhile, PDIP is currently reviewing the right to an inquiry by the House of Representatives (DPR), which was first brought up by presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo. The right to inquiry is also supported by the parties behind Anies-Muhaimin; NasDem, PKS, and PKB.

According to Chico, PDIP is steadfast in its aim to call for the right to inquiry based on alleged electoral fraud.

Chico also said earlier that Gajar-Mahfud’s coalition is united in its stance to call for the right to inquiry by DPR, including PP. “PDIP and PPP as well as other parties are quite solid facing this,” he said, claiming that any opinion dissenting to the inquiry was separate from PPP’s official stance.

On the other hand, Sandiaga Uno said that PPP is a ‘government-supportive party and is currently inside the government’. He also said that PPP is welcoming the opportunity to join Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the government. However, Sandiaga said there was still no offer to join Prabowo-Gibran. “It’s the prerogative of the elected president,” he said.

During the election, the PPP joined the PDIP, Hanura Party, and Perindo Party to back Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.
