77 Visa-free and Visa on Arrival Countries for Indonesian Passport Holders

TEMPO.CO, JakartaA visa is one of the official documents required for a citizen to enter another country. It is an entry permit that can be obtained through a consulate general or foreign embassy by submitting an application along with a passport as personal identification.

Although it is an essential document, some countries do not require visas for foreigners wishing to travel or work in their country. There are also countries that have a visa-free policy, visa-on-arrival policy, and an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for Indonesian passports.

Visa-free countries for Indonesian passport holders

According to the official website of the Immigration Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, here is a list of 45 countries that have a visa-free policy for Indonesian passport holders:

Apart from the visa-free countries, the following 32 countries require Indonesian citizens to obtain a visa on arrival. Visa on arrival can often be obtained at the airport or border crossing.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) Countries for Indonesian Citizens

Furthermore, several countries require digital documents or electronic travel authorization obtained online prior to arrival. These countries include Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The issuance of a free visa, visa on arrival, or eTA still takes into account the cost, requirements, length of stay, and type of destination, which may vary depending on the policies of the destination country. Therefore, Indonesian passport holders wishing to visit any of the 79 countries mentioned above must further confirm with the embassy of the country concerned.
