Indonesia Records Rp 31.3 Trillion APBN Surplus As Of January 2024: Sri Mulyani

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati reported a surplus in the state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) as of January 31, 2024.
"The budget surplus is IDR 31.3 trillion, which is around 0.14 percent of GDP," Sri Mulyani said at the APBN Kita online press conference on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Despite the surplus, the APBN achievement is still lower than the January 2023 period. In the same period the previous year, the budget experienced a surplus of Rp 90.7 trillion.
"The primary balance remains positive at Rp 61.4 trillion, a surplus," said Sri Mulyani.
In the same period the previous year, the primary balance also recorded a larger surplus. Namely, Rp 113.9 trillion.
The state budget surplus as well as the primary balance as of January 31, 2024 was obtained from state revenues of Rp 215.5 trillion or 7.7 percent of the 2024 state budget target, and state spending of Rp 184.2 trillion or 5.5 percent of the ceiling.
In more detail, state revenues consist of tax revenues of IDR 149.2 trillion, customs and excise revenues of IDR 22.9 trillion, and non-tax state revenues (PNBP) of IDR 43.3 trillion.
The state expenditure in detail consists of central government expenditure of IDR 96.4 trillion consisting of ministry/agency (K/L) expenditure of IDR 44.8 trillion and non-K/L expenditure of IDR 51.6 trillion. In addition, transfers to regions of Rp 87.8 trillion also contributed to state spending.
