TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) asked that the bullying that took place at Binus School Serpong was to be dealt with immediately, both in treating the victim and his bullies, who are categorized as minors in conflict with the law (ABH). The KPAI also appealed to the public not to reveal the names of the victim and his bullies on social media.
In dealing with the case, KPAI and the South Tangerang City's Women and Children Protection Unit (UPTD PPA) had visited the City's Resort Police. They also met with the victim and made sure that he received psychological counseling.
KPAI commissioner Diyah Puspitarini said that the commission will oversee the case transparently. "We hope that we are all committed. God willing, we will resolve conflicts with the law in accordance with the Child Protection Law," she said at the South Tangerang Police Headquarters on Feb. 20.
The KPAI Commissioner also asked the police to handle the case quickly, and said that the victim must continue to receive legal protection along with psychosocial assistance and social assistance.
She also hopes that the public will respect and participate in protecting children's rights by not revealing their identities and personal information.
Diyah added that in the near future KPAI will visit Binus School Serpong. "We will provide the details later, but for now we have communicated with the school.
