8 Constitutional Court Judges Prepare to Handle Dispute over 2024 General Election Results

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Constitutional Court or MK has begun making preparations to handle the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU). These preparations are being made so that the handling of the 2024 PHPU runs optimally.
Eight of the MK's nine constitutional judges will handle PHPU disputes. Anwar Usman will not be among them, following the Honorary Court of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) ruling no.2/MKMK/L/11/2023 that he had committed a serious ethical violation. One of the punishments was that he was not allowed to get involved or involve himself in PHPU disputes.
The following are the eight judges who will handle the PHPU:
Suhartoyo
Suhartoyo previously served as a judge at the Denpasar High Court. He officially replaced Anwar Usman as chairman of the Constitutional Court on November 9 2023.
Saldi Isra
Joko Widodo officially appointed Saldi Isra in April 2017 to replace Patrialis Akbar as constitutional judge.
Arief Hidayat
Arief was appointed as judge on April 1, 2013 at the State Palace by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Enny Nurbaningsih
Enny Nurbaningsih was elected to replace Maria Farida Indrati as a female constitutional judge in Indonesia.
Daniel Yusmic Pancastaki Foekh
Daniel was elected to replace I Dewa Gede Palguna who completed his term of office in January 2020. He became the first person from East Nusa Tenggara to serve as a constitutional judge.
Guntur Hamzah
Guntur was appointed by President Joko Widodo in November 2022 to replace Aswanto who was dismissed by the DPR.
Ridwan Mansyur
Ridwan was appointed as a Constitutional Judge based on President's Decree no.98/P of 2023 on Oct. 12, 2023.
Arsul Sani
Arsul Sani has served as constitutional judge since January 18, 2024, replacing Wahiduddin Adam.
