"We were encouraged by the robust economic cooperation between ASEAN and the EU, with the EU being ASEAN’s third-largest foreign investor and third-largest trading partner in 2022 and reaffirmed our commitment to make use of this positive momentum to further intensify trade and investment relations between the ASEAN and the EU," according to the Joint Ministerial Statement in Jakarta, Saturday.
At the meeting attended by ASEAN foreign ministers and EU member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat and the European Commission, as well as Timor Leste as an ASEAN observer, the ASEAN re-emphasized the importance of finding solutions to long-standing market access problems.
