TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ghisca Debora Aritonang, a suspect in Coldplay concert ticket fraud, has been facing a lawsuit from one of her victims, Arya Elanda Zuriat at the Central Jakarta District Court since early December 2023. Ghisca will undergo her first trial as a defendant in the breach of contract case today, February 1.
The Central Jakarta District Court accepted and granted the plaintiff's lawsuit.
Ghisca Debora Aritonang, who is registered as a student at Trisakti University, attempted mediation with the plaintiff, Arya, on January 12 2024. But both parties failed to reach a settlement, as confirmed by Arya's lawyer Ben Immanuel.
"Ghisca only offered 30 percent compensation," Ben said on Monday, January 29, 2024. Arya refused the offer.
Apart from Arya, Ben is also the attorney for Ghisca's other victims. He revealed that the other 10 victims had actually agreed to accept the 30 percent compensation, but this agreement was annulled because Arya refused.
According to Ben, the cancellation of the compensation agreement for victims was due to the principles of restorative justice. "The settlement only works if all parties accept it. If one refuses, then because of the restorative justice, it will be canceled," said Ben.
