TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The public prosecutor demanded 2.5 years in prison for the defendant in the Coldplay ticket fraud case, Ajeng Ayulina, during an indictment hearing at Depok District Court, on Wednesday, January 31. The attorney of the victim, Epta Inggie Artha, said they objected to the prosecutors' demands and hoped that Ajeng would be given the maximum sentence under Article 378 on fraud.
"What we want is the maximum sentence of four years in prison, in accordance with Article 378 on fraud," said Muhammad Ferry Insan, the victim's lawyer, after the hearing.
As they wait for the verdict against the defendant, the victim's legal team plans to take civil action because they hope that the victim's losses can be recovered.
"We will appeal to the civil court, we will trace down her assets," said Ferry.
Ferry said that the defendant had promised to compensate the losses from purchasing Coldplay tickets that the victim never received. However, so far there has been no good faith and this promise has never been realized.
Ajeng Ayulina promised Epta Inggie Artha to get Coldplay tickets according to the agreed amount. However, until the day of the concert on November 15 last year, Epta never got the tickets, costing her a loss of Rp182 million. She then reported the fraud to the police.
