10 K-Pop Idols, Actors to Complete Mandatory Military Service in 2024

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Military service or conscription is mandatory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 in South Korea. Celebrities are not exempt from this policy.
K-pop fans usually have to wait for an average of one and a half years for their idols to complete their military service. Tempo has rounded up the list of K-pop idols and Korean actors who are expected to return this year. Here are the details:
Jin (BTS)
Jin is the eldest and first member of the Bangtan Boys or BTS to enlist the military service. He started the duty on December 13, 2022, and is expected to finish serving on June 12, 2024.
Y (Golden Child)
Y from the Golden Chil group registered for the military in March last year. He reportedly became a military unit commander along with Twenty-Five Twenty-One actor Nam Jo Hyuk. The singer is expected to return on September 19, 2024.
Kang Tae Oh
On August 31, 2022, actor and singer, Kang Tae Oh announced at a fan meeting that he would be joining the military on September 20, 2022. The Extraordinary Attorney Woo star will return on September 19, 2024.
J-Hope (BTS)
J-Hope is the second BTS member to be drafted on April 18, 2023. Earlier, Soompi reported that he attained the role of an assistant instructor at the prestigious 36th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province. J-Hope will complete his service on October 17, 2024.
Ong Seong Wu
Strong Girl Nam Soon actor Ong Seong Wu officially joined the army on April 17, 2023. He is predicted to complete the service on October 16, 2024.
Minhyuk (MONSTA X)
Minhyuk is the second member of MONSTA X to begin his mandatory military service on April 4, 2023, after leader Shownu, who joined the army in July 2021. Minhyuk will complete his service on October 3, 2024.
Jay B (GOT7)
Jay B will return to greet fans after his mandatory military service on November 1, 2024, as he enlisted in the army on February 2, 2023.
Jinyoung (GOT7)

Kang Seung Yoon (WINNER)
The WINNER member under YG Entertainment will reportedly return from his military duties on December 11, 2024, as began the service on June 20, 2023. Kang Seung Yoon is currently serving in the Army's 6th Infantry Division.
Song Min Ho (WINNER)
Song Min Ho aka WINNER's Mino began his mandatory military service on March 24, 2023. Previous reports suggested that Min Ho entered a military training center and received basic training. He is set to make a comeback on December 23, 2024.
