TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Covid-19 cases have increased significantly in Singapore. Referring to these conditions, the Indonesian government, through Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, appealed to the public to be always remain alert.
The increase in Covid-19 cases in Singapore doubled from November 19 to 25, 2023. This is based on data released from the Singapore's Ministry of Health, said Minister Budi.
The increase in Covid-19 cases in Singapore has now reach to a whopping number of 22,904 cases, previously there were only 10,726 cases. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin hopes that the public will not ignore this matter.
Budi recommends to the Indonesian people to immediately get a vaccination for those who haven't got one yet. The reason, he said, is that vaccination can reduce the spread of Covid-19 and strengthen the body's immunity.
"We also see an increase, but it's a good thing that we still have vaccinations. If we get vaccinated, then we should be good," said Budi Gunadi Sadikin, quoted from Antara, Monday, December 4, 2023.
Budi said that vaccination is not enough just to do it once. People need to do multiple vaccination, up until the booster dose. Budi also informed that vaccinations are still free of charge until December 2023.
"As long as it's still free this December, let's just take advantage of it," said Budi. Because, if it is not utilized, he said, the impact will also be felt by the community.
Even though in Singapore there has been a doubling of Covid-19 cases, Budi stated that it is currently still safe in Indonesia. He said there had been no spike in patients in hospitals in Indonesia related to Covid-19.
"We don't see those who are admitted to hospital. There is indeed an increase in those affected (by Covid-19), but their immunity is already good with vaccination," he said.
