KPK Raids BPK Office This Morning over Sorong Regent Corruption Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Deputy of the Enforcement team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) raided the Indonesian Audit Board Office (BPK) on Wednesday morning, November 15, 2023. The team arrived at the scene at around 09:25 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
"There's a raid," said a source who was aware of the activity.
KPK Deputy of Enforcement Rudi Setiawan and KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri have not answered any questions or confirmation regarding the raid. However, KPK did board up the office of BPK Member Pius Lutrilanang, allegedly involved in the corruption case concerning the Acting Regent of Sorong. Pius Lustrilanag is believed to be in South Korea at present.
KPK named six suspects in a sting operation targeted at Yan Piet Mosso in an alleged corruption case concerning BPK's findings in Sorong Regency, West Papua. They were apprehended in Sorong and Jakarta on Sunday, November 12.
These suspects are Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Puet Mosso, the head of BPK Sorong Efer Segidifat, Staff of BPK Sorong Maniel Syatfle, the head of West Papua representative at BPK Patrice Lumumba Sihombing, the head of sub-auditor of the BPK West Papua Abu Hanifa, and the head of the Examination Team of BPK David Patasaung.
KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri mentioned that his team confiscated Rp1.8 billion of cash and a Rolex watch during the operation.
"The apprehended parties and the piece of evidence are brought to the Red White Building in KPK to be probed," Firli Bahuri said.
