AGO Names BPK Member Suspect in Kominfo BTS Corruption Case

3 November 2023 20:25 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Attorney General’s Office (AGO) director of investigation for special crimes, Kuntandi, announced today, Nov. 3, that a member of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) Achsanul Qosasi is among the suspects in the alleged 4G BTS corruption case of the Communication and Information or Kominfo Ministry.

The AGO had today questioned Achsanul Qosasi from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then named him as a suspect for allegedly receiving Rp40 billion in the corruption case.

“The AGO’s investigation team summoned AQ as a witness in a case involving alleged corruption in the receipt of approximately Rp40 billion, which is believed to be related to his position,” Kuntadi said.

However, he said the team would further investigate whether the money was also used to influence the results of the financial audit of the BTS case.

“We are still examining the documents to see whether the amount of 40 billion was intended to influence our investigation process or to influence the BPK audit process,” he added.

On this basis, AQ is suspected of violating the law on corruption crime or the law on the prevention and eradication of money laundering (TPPU).

Kuntadi said that Achsanul Qosasi would be detained at the Salemba Detention Center, South Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.
