Next Week's Agenda: Indonesia Comic Con, Urban Sneaker Society, Int`l Moving Image Cultures Conference 2023

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - For next week's agenda, Tempo English has compiled several events set to be held, starting from Monday, October 30 until Sunday, November 5, 2023. Those events include: International Conference on Medical and Health Sciences, Urban Sneaker Society, and Indonesia Comic Con X DG Con 2023.

1. International Moving Image Cultures Conference 2023

(October 31 to November 1, 2023; at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, South Tangerang)

3rd IMOVICCON 2023 (International Moving Image Cultures Conference) is an academic space for students, lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and moving image enthusiasts to exchange and share academic experiences and disseminate their recent research on all aspects of moving image cultures. This biennial conference is a collaboration between Film Department of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and School of Design of Pelita Harapan University which aim to serve as a gathering of film academics, film students, practitioners, as well as film communities to present and discuss topics relating to "the past, the present, and the future of moving images".

The 3rd IMOVICCON aims to celebrate moving images by looking at their past, present, and future. It’s necessary to examine the past, the present, and the future of moving images since the past can be used as a reflection site. The present tells how far we’ve come, and it is even more interesting to see what the future holds for moving image culture. Ever since the invention of the Phenakistoscope until the development of the Metaverse, moving image culture continued to evolve and became a huge inspiration for various research and publications. Its transdisciplinary nature also makes moving images approachable by every methodology available, making it possible to be explored and researched by multiple scientific disciplines.

2. Urban Sneaker Society 2023

(November 3 to 5, 2023; at Jakarta Convention Center / JCC, Central Jakarta)

Urban Sneaker Society is a platform that connect the sneaker and streetwear community with insighful conversation around the now-maistream culture and transits the inclusive naarative for the better movement of it.

3. Indonesia Comic Con x DG CON 2023

(November 4 to 5, 2023; at Jakarta Convention Center / JCC, Central Jakarta)

The Indonesia Comic Con x DG CON 2023 will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan in Central Jakarta which includes the Assembly, Cendrawasih and Plenary Halls, on November 4 to 5. With a new spirit, this year's event is designed to be more grand and ambitious than the previous ones, promising a series of surprises for visitors.
