As for Karawang Station, the building facility, construction and other development have reached a progress of 99 percent.
Right now, Eva said, there is work to create access to the station from the toll road. As for access to surrounding neighborhoods, they are ready.
"Hopefully by the end of this year or early next year [it can open]. For now, the important thing is the fast train connects Jakarta and Bandung, which has been achieved, he said after the inauguration of the fast train at Halim Station Monday, October 2.
President Joko Widodo or Jokowi inaugurated the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB), which was named 'Whoosh' on Monday, October 2, at Halim Station, East Jakarta.
Whoosh is short for 'Waktu Hemat Operasi Optimal Sistem Hemat' or 'Optimal Operating Time Saving System'. Jokowi said the name also illustrates the fast-train's speedy operations.
The China-made bullet train is designed to transport 600 people between the cities of Jakarta and Bandung in just 45 minutes. The project is part of China's Belt and Road infrastructure initiative.
