TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said that digital finance and economic transactions are currently strong with the support of a secure, smooth, and reliable payment system.
"The transaction value of electronic money in July 2023 increased by 10.50% year-on-year, reaching Rp39.21 trillion," said Perry during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Meanwhile, the digital banking transaction is recorded at Rp5,035.37 trillion, increasing by 15.50% year-on-year.
"The number of QRIS transactions increased by 84.50% year-on-year, reaching Rp18.01 trillion," he added.
Additionally, the number of QRIS users currently amounts to 38.24 million people. The number of merchants is 27.51 million, with the majority of them being MSMEs.
"Bank Indonesia continues to support the acceleration of digitalizing the payment system and expansion of inter-state payment system cooperation to boost the inclusivity of the economy and the expansion of digital economy and digital finance," Perry Warjiyo concluded.
