TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono said the portion of the work from home (WFH) policy for Jakarta state civil apparatus (ASN) would be increased to 75 percent during the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

The WFH policy and distance learning (PJJ) will be enforced in South Jakarta areas, Gambir, and Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), especially during the 43rd ASEAN Summit on September 4-7.

"For ASN, we will increase it by up to 75 percent," said Heru in the midst of tree planting activities under the Becakayu Toll Road, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Saturday, August 19, 2023, Antara reported.

Heru confirmed that the WFH for Jakarta ASN would be held for three months starting from August 21 to October 21. The concept is 50 percent WFH and 50 percent in-office work. This policy does not apply to ASN who work in public services, such as employees in hospitals and schools.

According to Heru, the re-implementation of the WFH policy in Jakarta is not only to reduce air pollution but also to reduce traffic jams during the 2023 ASEAN Summit. This policy, he continued, also applies to ASN in ministries and institutions with offices in the capital.

Private companies are not required to implement this policy. However, Heru Budi appealed to companies to regulate their own sectors that can implement the WFH policy.
