TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Terang Dunia Internusa (PT TDI), a manufacturer of United E-Motor electric motorbikes, or e-bikes, continues to expand its market. The company's general manager, Andry Dwinanda, said that the automaker has signed a deal with a Malaysian distributor.
"In the near future, United's electric motorbikes will be exported to Malaysia. For other countries, we are exploring a more positive direction," Andry Dwinanda said in a press statement received on Monday, July 31.
Three factories have been established to cater for the domestic market and also target the export market. The newest factory is located in Curug, Tangerang Regency, Banten.
PT TDI has been building the United brand and business for more than 31 years, with a focus on the export market. Andry said that the United Bike brand is well known in neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Australia.
Despite always being export-oriented, Andry said the company does not rule out the national market.
"The national market remains a priority. We are committed to stakeholders to keep the supply of products, spare parts and other services safe at the dealer's door. But strategically, we need foreign markets to maintain more stable or increase sales figures," said Andry.
According to Andry, the export target has spurred PT TDI to produce better quality, more innovative and competitive electric motorcycle products. In the national market PT TDI is increasing market penetration in Java, Bali, Sumatra and Sulawesi.
