TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Super Air Jet launched a new flight route that will connect Bandung City in West Java to South Sumatra’s Palembang and South Kalimantan’s Banjarmasin.
The carrier’s chief executive officer Ari Azhari said that the introduction of the new route will effectively begin on July 3, 2023, which he said was initiated based on air travel trends that are developing among the younger generations, mainly millennials.
"This additional choice of flight route will be hugely beneficial for everyone, especially millennials that are getting more excited by Indonesia’s numerous tourism destinations," Azhari wrote in a statement on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Ari said that Bandung, as one of the cities with rapid development and unique cultural attraction, is an ideal base to launch new routes. Following the dynamic changes in air travel preferences, he claimed that Super Air Jet constantly strives to innovate and provide solutions that suit the needs of these young adults.
"In recent years, Super Air Jet has seen tremendous interest in air travel from millennials. They want convenience, flexibility, and an experience that is different from previous generations," Ari said commenting on the new Bandung route.
