TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono set a target to reduce the stunting rate in the Capital City as low as possible. However, he did not detail the number while President Joko Widodo or Jokowi set a target to reduce the rate to below 14 percent in 2024.

"[The target is] as low as possible, we'll work and work [it out]," said Heru Budi after reviewing stunting prevention activities in Triputra Persada Hijau, North Jakarta, Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Heru is optimistic that Jakarta will overcome the issues and achieve the target of reducing the stunting rate.

Previously, the Head of Internal Compliance, Law, and Information for the Regional Office of the Directorate General of State Assets for Jakarta, Didik Hariyanto, said that the economy in the capital city has become better and stronger with the regional state budget revenues and grants until November 30, 2022.

He stated that the fund had reached about Rp1,435.87 trillion or 148.53 percent of the target. Meanwhile, the expenditure ceiling was Rp563.99 trillion or 78.84 percent, which impacted a regional surplus of Rp889.23 trillion or 330.87 percent of the target.

Jakarta's poverty alleviation fund reaches Rp10.22 trillion

"As for the issuance of Government Regulation No. 28 of 2022 concerning Management of State Receivables by the State Receivables Affairs Committee (PUPN), it is hoped that it could accelerate and strengthen the management of state receivables," said Didik Hariyanto regarding the performance of the State Budget in Jakarta area in a written statement, Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

In addition, it was stated that the contribution of state spending in 2022 to tackle extreme poverty, stunting, and food security in Jakarta alone reached Rp10.22 trillion consisting of Rp1.34 trillion from the State Budget (APBN) and Rp8.88 trillion from the Regional Budget (APBD).

The efforts made by the government to tackle extreme poverty, stunting, and food security in Jakarta include the Family Hope Program (PKH), the manufacture of Fortified rice (Nutri Rice) by Food Station (FS) to accelerate the reduction of stunting, education, and dissemination concerning the importance of fulfilling children rights, as well as building trade centers (rice, meat and other).
