TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Lampung state-owned electricity company PLN branch announced the establishment of two electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) located in the Trans-Sumatra toll. The new charging stations were intentionally built to accommodate travelers during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The PLN Lampung distribution unit general manager I Gede Agung Sindu Putra explains that the additional charging stations shows PLN’s commitment in accelerating the growth of the electric vehicle era.
“The SPKLUs will better accommodate travelers using electric vehicles during the Christmas and New Year’s homecoming period through the toll road,” said Putra to Antaranews on December 22.
The EV charging stations are locatedacross two locations in the Trans Sumatra Toll KM 163A rest area and the 172 B section that heads to Bakauheni, South Lampung.
“In total, there are five charging stations operating in the Lampung Province. This would better accommodate electric vehicle users,” he said.
Three existing charging stations, which are all connected to the PLN mobile app, had been built in 2021 locatedat the Trans Sumatra KM 20B rest area, KM 49A, and the Els Coffee Roastery at the Sukarno Hatta Bandarlampung Highway.
