TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will focus on MSMEs in 2023. Kadin chairman Arsjad Rasjid said that this is because MSMEs play a massive role in the national economy.
"MSMEs contribute greatly to the GDP and act as Indonesia's largest employer. However, currently, MSMEs still have challenges that we must face together," Arsjad said during the Chamber's meeting at the Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta, Friday, December 2.
So far, he continued, the Kadin has carried out various work programs to help MSMEs scale up. This is in line with the inclusive partnership movement for MSMEs launched by President Joko Widodo in October.
"Helping Indonesian MSMEs go up in class is one of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's focuses," he said.
One of the programs is the Wikiwirausaha.id digital platform, which helps MSMEs to have access to partners, markets, and financing. Kadin also encourages business actors to implement closed-loop inclusive partnerships, a multi-stakeholder collaboration that provides assistance from large companies to small companies.
Arsjad said that the Kadin has a roadmap towards 2045 that will help actualize the President's big vision, which is to reach a 'Golden Indonesia' in 2045. The roadmap is for companies engaged in various sectors and business scales to implement development strategies to help Indonesia become the world's fourth-largest economy.
"It includes roadmaps for each industry sector covered in the roadmap for technology, skills, net zero, poverty alleviation," Arsjad said.
