Police Yet to Name Suspects in Child Acute Kidney Injury Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police spokesperson grand commissioner Nurul Azizah on Wednesday said no suspects have officially been named in the investigation against the case involving the child deaths caused by acute kidney injury. He assures that investigators are currently questioning witnesses and probing into documents.
"Investigators have examined witnesses related to the sales documents and the distribution of raw materials," said Nurul at the Jakarta Police Headquarters on Wednesday, November 9.
Nurul also said investigators had also received and examined samples of the medicine, urine, and blood from the victims of acute kidney injuries.
"To date, the National Police Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) has received 175 samples from the victims of child acute kidney injury, which consists of drugs, urine, and blood samples," said Nurul.
He asserted that police will work in parallel with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) to dwell deeper into the case that claimed the lives of over one hundred children across the country.
