TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tangerang City holds an exhibition of various relics of the Prophet Muhammad, his followers, and other items associated with the Prophet as part of the Al Azhom Festival. The holy relics presented at the building of the Indonesian Ulema Council’s (MUI) Tangerang chapter include the Prophet’s sweat extracts, footprints, and turban.
The organizing committee member Muhammad Issac Mahmudi said people willing to visit the exhibition must register at 0821-1113-0383 because the number of visitors is limited to 20 people per session.
“Visitors are also advised to wear Muslim clothing,” said Mahmudi.
According to him, the public is enthusiastic to see the relics as thousands of people have made the registration. This exhibition will be open until October 5, 2022.
Other collections of relics include the incense of the Uthmani Kingdom, a black meteorite similar to the Black Stone or Hajar Aswad, the stone wall of the Kaaba, the land of the Prophet's tomb, the key to the Prophet's tomb, and the cloth covering the tomb of the Prophet.
There are also the Prophet’s cupping blood, sweat extract, footprints, bows and arrows, sugi wood, beard and hair, and turban. “This turban emits a special fragrance. People can smell it through the prepared glass cavity,” said Mahmudi.
Mahmudi hoped that the exhibition can widen the knowledge of the people about the Prophet Muhammad. “Hopefully this will also be a blessing for Tangerang City,” he added.
Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said the 2002 Al Azhom Festival is momentum for economic and tourism revival after the COVID-19 pandemic. He called on the public to visit the grand event and other series of agenda such as a sarong healthy walk, Islamic competitions, calligraphy exhibitions, bazaars, and culinary festivals.
