Jakarta Holds Again JF3 Event in Kelapa Gading

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival (JF3) is being held again after two years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The annual festival is held from September 1 to 11 at the Summarecon Mall in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, under the theme of Cultural Diversity.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno and his wife Nur Asia Uno attended the opening of the event. In his speech, he lauded the JF3 as one of the most popular events and is enlisted in the Kharisma Event Nusantara.
“JF3 is included in the list of Kharisma Event Nusantara. This is 100 best events in Nusantara, the Calendar of Events issued by the government,” said Sandiaga.
He hopes that this festival would help boost the creative economy in Indonesia. Currently, the contribution of Indonesia's creative economy is on the top three global lists after the United States with its Hollywood and South Korea with K-Pop.
"From the 1,300 trillion generated by the creative industry, 75 percent of the revenue comes from three sub-sectors, namely culinary, fashion, and craft," he said.
Adrianto Pitoyo Adhi, the president director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, said that 50 MSMEs, 38 designers, 3 fashion schools 70 MSMEs in the culinary industry with more than 500 types of foods are involved in this event. The JF3 also conducting coaching for the creative young generation through the Pintu Kolaborator in a collaboration with Lakon Indonesia, aiming at supporting the young creative generation to be able to manage their brands and businesses professionally.
This year's JF3 theme, which is the Cultural Diversity of Indonesia, describes the richness of Indonesia, said JF3 chairman Sugianto Nagaria. “There are so many angles that can be taken from this topic. This shows the richness of Indonesian culture that needs to be known and explored," he said at a press conference before the opening of the festival.
This year, JF3 is held again at La Piazza in a huge tent with air conditioners, sound systems, and magnificent lightning design.
The opening event was marked with the jewelry collection show of The Palace with the theme of Tamra Nusantara. This collection promotes the cultural richness of the archipelago in collaboration with designer Samuel Wattimena.
