Prabowo Visits East Java Governor Khofifah in Surabaya

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa received a visit from Gerindra Party's Central Executive Board (DPP) chairman Gerindra Prabowo Subianto on May 3. The two had a private meeting at Surabaya's Negara Grahadi Building in the evening.
The visit was part of Prabowo's series of activities during his political safari to several areas in East Java.
Khofifah did not say what they discussed during the closed meeting that lasted almost 90 minutes. When asked by reporters after the meeting, she only said her Eid greetings.
At the same place, Prabowo said his visit to Grahadi Building was a friendly gesture to greet Khofifah, especially as it is the Eid holiday season.
Khofifah was the third political figure Prabowo visited. The day before, he visited President Joko Widodo and PDI-P Central Executive Board chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Prabowo arrived in East Java on Tuesday morning. In addition to meeting the governor, he also visited a number of Islamic boarding schools and met with several kiais in Situbondo and Madura, among others.
