TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi received a visit from Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto at the Yogyakarta State Palace on Monday, May 2, 2022. Both said the meeting only touched on light issues.

Prabowo, who was accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo, was welcomed by Jokowi, First Lady Iriana and the President’s youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep. Jokowi said there was no political talk in the meeting.

“We chatted a lot, but only on light issues, no politics, no economy, just small talk,” Jokowi said as released by the Presidential Secretariat.

Jokowi said Eid al-Fitr was all about forgiving and asking for forgiveness, so there were no serious matters discussed with Prabowo in the meeting.

“What is important is that we have met, asked for each other's forgiveness, and eaten opor (chicken in coconut broth) together,” Jokowi said.
