Food Commodity Prices Climb ahead of Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Trade Ministry’s Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System (SP2KP) logged Thursday rising food commodity prices ahead of Eid al-Fitr holidays, mainly of chicken eggs, beef, and red pepper or chili.
According to the Trade Ministry’s website ews.kemendag.go.id on Friday, purebred chicken eggs increased by Rp200 from Rp27,400 to Rp27,600; beef is priced at Rp139,600 from the previous Rp136,800; red pepper rose to Rp47,600 from Rp45,700.
The Information Center for Strategic Food Prices (PIHPS) also noted an increase in the price of broiler eggs as of April 28, 2022, by Rp 200, up by 0.73 percent to Rp27,650 per kilogram. Quality 1 beef costs Rp109,150 per kilogram in East Nusa Tenggara Province and the highest in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands for Rp165 thousand.
The price of red cayenne pepper increased by Rp500 or 1.05 percent to Rp48,250 per kilogram. Also, big red chili rose by Rp1,350 or 2.62 percent to Rp52,850 per kilogram.
