West Papua Struck By 6.1 Magnitude Earthquake

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in its Tweet on the early morning of Thursday announced a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the southeast region of West Papua.
According to the agency, the earthquake’s hypocenter was 14 kilometers underneath, which is classified as a shallow quake.
The exact location is at the coordinates: 4.29 south latitude and 134.21 east longitude, around 115 kilometers southeast of Kaimana, West Papua. The agency said the strong earthquake did not trigger a tsunami warning.
