TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has again received 500,000 doses of ready-to-use Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine today, August 3, via Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten. The vaccine would increase the supply for the Gotong Royong private vaccination program.
“Today, Indonesia has received another 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine,” said State-Owned Enterprises Deputy Minister, Pahala Mansury, as broadcasted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Tuesday, August 3.
Pahala explained Indonesia had received 7.5 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine in several stages. With the latest delivery, there were a total of 8 million doses.
“We hope that with this addition, we can achieve the target of administering two million doses per day as part of Indonesia's efforts to achieve herd immunity,” he said.
The Gotong Royong vaccine program is a vaccination paid by corporations for employees and their families.
Pahala said his side continued to maintain communication with related parties, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to ensure the vaccine supply so as to meet the needs of the private program.
The SOE Deputy Minister further appealed to private parties not only to finance the Covid-19 vaccine for workers and their families but also the public through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
