TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) on Monday commended the mental perseverance of Ridho Ilhami (14) who managed to survive being stranded at sea for three hours after falling from a ferry boat over the Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands) no Friday, June 18.

Citing Antaranews, Naval Staff Deputy Chief Vice Admiral Ahmadi Heri Purwono represented Navy Chief admiral Yudo Margono upon conveying the Navy’s respect towards the teenager, while handing over a number of gifts from the military as their sign of appreciation.

“The Indonesian Navy highly commends the mental perseverance and bravery [of Ridho] over the waters which is our field of duty,” said the Naval staff deputy at the JICT port in Jakarta. “We need to help this child considering he dreams of being in the Navy, his mentality is undoubtedly.”
