TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims in the country and asked the public in general to pray for the immediate end of COVID-19 for the sake of the national economic recovery.
“I wish you all good health and a happy Eid al-Fitr. Keep complying with the health protocols and let us all pray for the end of COVID-19, that we are all delivered from perils, and that the economy can recover immediately,” he said on his Instagram account @airlanggahartarto_official, Thursday, May 13, 2021.
Airlangga added the fact that people were still celebrating Eid amid the pandemic should not undermine their sense of gratefulness, as silaturahmi (communal bonds) were still possible despite the distance.
“May Eid al-Fitr this year be full of blessings and grace for Muslims and the Indonesian people in general. Happy Eid al-Fitr.”
Airlangga Hartarto also called on people to stick with the health protocols during Eid celebrations. “Keep practicing the 3M [wearing face masks, washing hands with soap, physical distancing] wherever you are,” he said.
