TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As the Eid celebrations is nearing, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan late Monday evening urged businesses located outside of the city’s Covid-19 red and orange zones to limit its operations up to 9PM and continue to limit visitors capacity to 50 percent.
The governor’s public call was stated in the governor’s circular No.5/2021 on controlling public activities and preventing the coronavirus disease 2019 during the Eid al-Fitr 1442 holidays. “People must be active in preventing the spread of Covid-19,” said the governor.
The circular also announced that malls, food stalls, cafes, restaurants, up to theaters located within what are considered to be red zones and orange zones will be temporarily closed by the Jakarta administration from May 12 to May 16.
Anies Baswedan’s public appeal upon limiting the activities within high-risk of Covid-19 regions refer to similar policies issued by the Transportation Ministry, Home Affairs Ministry’s instruction, Religious Affairs Ministry’s circular, and the national Covid-19 task force.
