Kimia Farma Dismisses Workers Involved in Secondhand Rapid Test Crime

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kimia Farma has fired its employees who were involved in a crime - which is currently handled by the North Sumatra police - after being caught utilizing secondhand stick cotton buds for rapid antigen test services in one of its facility at the Kualanamu Airport.
Apart from the dismissal, the pharmaceutical firm will also entirely hand the case to the authorities. The company stated in its press statement that they hope the suspects would receive the maximum amount of punishment for their crime.
The firm said that it is committed to evaluate and strengthen its standard operating procedure to prevent future recurrences.
In an earlier report the North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak revealed that the arrested former Kimia Farma employees in Kualanamu Airport had committed the crime since December last year.
The State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir spoke publicly about this issue and strongly condemned the heinous acts of the airport health employees. He also questioned how such an unethical practice that poses a serious health hazard was able to emerge in the first place.
