Bandung Relaxes Operating Hour of Malls, Restaurants

  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaBandung Administration relaxes the Covid-19 restriction for several business sectors by extending the operating hours of malls and restaurants amid the increasing coronavirus case. The businesses are allowed to open until 8 p.m. from previously 7 p.m.

    "Regarding the economic relaxation, Bandung City Administration will [remain] abide by central government's order," said Bandung Mayor Oded M Danial at Bandung City Hall on Friday, Jan. 22.

    The central government decided to extend the community mobility restriction or PPKM until February 8.

    Oded claimed that his side would tightly monitor the implementation of health protocols amid the relaxation. He added that the authorities have imposed sanctions on businesses that violated the regulations.

    Covid-19 case in Bandung reached 7,654 infections cumulatively, with 1,638 confirmed active cases. “The increase in positive cases is due to the increase of tracing,” Oded remarked.
