Sinovac Vaccine Clinical Trial Report Completed on January 8

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Sinovac vaccine clinical trial research team from the University of Padjadjaran’s faculty of medicine is set to report the result of the immunization tests conducted in the past three months.
The report will be handed to state-pharmaceutical firm Bio Farma and the Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM) on Friday, January 8, and evaluated by comparing its results to the Sinovac vaccine clinical trials held in Brazil and Turkey.
“The report is [crucial] to file for the emergency use authorization,” said the research team manager Eddy Fadlyana on Tuesday.
Indonesia, Brazil, and Turkey are currently putting the vaccines into its third clinical trial which is the final phase of the development. The first and second trials were conducted in the country where the vaccines were initially produced.
The clinical trial report will reveal the results of testing the vaccine for six months onto 1,620 volunteers in Bandung. The aspects of the vaccine that are under the spotlight is its safety aspect, the condition of volunteers' antibodies, and its effectiveness against the Covid-19 virus.
