TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Wednesday, Dec. 16, says the government needs sufficient technology to be able to vaccinate Indonesia’s 180 million population. It is to have the program run consistent with the government’s plan and target.
“Imagine vaccinating roughly 180 million people and not just once. This means we need some sort of technology,” says Sri Mulyani in today’s Indonesia Digital Conference.
The technology she refers to is a technology that keeps track of the databases which will enable the vaccination team to determine the status or the target person.
“To track those who have been vaccinated twice amidst a certain time period and to reveal their location by name, ID number (NIK),” said Sri Mulyani, who also assures every community health centers (Puskesmas) in Indonesia are connected to the internet.
She believes that the great challenge posed by the national vaccination lies in distribution management and how to run them smoothly.
