Sri Mulyani Speaks about Overcoming COVID-19 Effects with APBN

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Tuesday asserted the importance of the State Budget (APBN) as a crucial instrument to help carry the Indonesian population out of the COVID-19 pandemic’s health, economy, social, and financial aspects.
“The state budget has an extraordinary task this year but this is not the final episode as we still have a long journey to recover people’s economy again,” said Sri Mulyani in the national heroes day commemoration on November 10.
The former World Bank managing director said the country’s finances must be managed well in order to continue the drive to survive the global coronavirus crisis which many experts believe will remain until next year.
In her speech, she called for her acquaintances in the Finance MInistry to be the heroes in managing the country;s finances. “Help prepare Indonesia to not just fight, but also control and conquer the threat of COVID-19,” said Sri Mulyani.
