TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that Jakarta has already had 106 Covid-19 referral hospitals, either regional-owned ones or under cooperation with private hospitals.
“With more additional hospitals, we now have 100 Covid-19 referral hospitals,” said Anies in the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday, September 30.
Previously, the city’s Health Agency appointed 13 more regional hospitals for Covid-19 patients, which now totaled 80. All non-Covid-19 patients were transferred to other hospitals.
The city administration also collaborated with 26 private hospitals to anticipate the rising needs of ICU and isolation rooms during the Large-Scale Social Restriction or PSBB.
Anies said all Jakarta residents confirmed positive for the disease had to be isolated in facilities provided by the government unless they met certain predetermined criteria.
According to him, several hotels had also been turned into Covid-19 isolation centers as ordered by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo. At present, there are at least 15 one to three-star hotels designated as quarantine sites.
Additionally, Anies Baswedan had recently set up three government-controlled isolation centers, namely Wisma Jakarta Islamic Centre (JIC), Graha Wisata Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), dan Graha Wisata Ragunan.
