Daimler West Java Plant Resumes Operations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia (DCVMI) announced in a press release on Monday that its West Java Wanaherang factory had restarted manufacturing operations for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles.
The production line had been made effective since early June as the Indonesian government lifted the COVID-19 large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), which initially shut its operations.
The president director of PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia, Tim Grieger, expressed gratitude upon the reopening of the factory and asserted that it was the company’s commitment to continuing to contribute to Indonesia’s economy during the transitional period the government had established.
The president assured that PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia would continue to enact the existing health protocols in conducting its production activities and ensured that none of its workers would be exposed to the COVID-19 across its work environment at the Wanaherang plant.
Similar to other companies that have established operations throughout the transitional PSSB period, DCVMI continued to enact strict physical distancing and personal hygiene measures for its employees and applied shifts in work schedules.
