TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Aquarium management offers private journey services that implement the COVID-19 health protocols to tourists, said the management's head of social, branding, and communication, Fira Basuki.
“In this situation, traveling with families seems to be difficult to realize. But that does not mean impossible,” said Fira in a written statement on Friday, June 26. The city’s largest indoor aquarium is located at Neo Soho Mall, West Jakarta.
Fira explained that during the private journey, tourists will not have to worry about being in a crowd and making contacts with others as the management has limited the number of visitors per group and time of the visit.
“Visitors can interact directly with animals at the Jakarta Aquarium while maintaining physical distancing,” she said.
The health protocols include the use of face masks, a physical distance of 1.5 meters, body temperature checks. “The purchase of certain tickets will be under security based on the applicable health standard,” explained Fira.
The management also provides hand-washing stations and hand sanitizers in each corner and limits the maximum number of visitors to 50 percent of the total capacity. Fira further ensured that all staffers tested negative for the COVID-19 and the areas had been disinfected before and after the opening.
The Jakarta Aquarium has resumed operations since Saturday, June 20, 2020 and is available from Monday to Friday at 11 a.m.-08 p.m. and from Saturday to Sunday at 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
