FPI Stages Rally before DPR Building; Jalan Gatot Subroto Closed

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police reportedly closed Jalan Gatot Subroto towards Slipi due to a mass demonstration staged by the Islamic Front Defender (FPI) against the Pancasila Ideology Guidelines (RUU HIP) before the House of Representatives (DPR) building.
The FPI mass donning white clothes joined other protesters who sat in the bus lane on Jalan Gatot Subroto heading to Slipi on Wednesday, June 24.
The traffic from Kelapa Dua Restaurant directed to Graha Wanabakti of the Environment and Forestry Ministry Building on the grounds of the road closure. The traffic for reverse direction was seen as normal.
The Traffic Police regulated vehicles heading to Slipi to take roads to Senayan direction. Other police officers stood guard, monitoring the rally.
The orator shouted chanting of 'Ganyang PKI', or literally means 'destroy communism'. The mass protested the government and the legislators who planned to deliberate the HIP bill which they deemed would revive communism in Indonesia.
