TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several spots in Jakarta are inundated by water following heavy rain that falls since early Saturday, January 18, 2020. Based on Tempo’s observation, water floods the front area of Gandaria City Mall at the Sultan Iskandar Muda area, South Jakarta.

Two-wheel vehicles are stuck in 30-50 cm water, causing the machines to stop and creating congestion. The floodwater also submerges the front area of Widuri College at Palmerah Barat area.

Inundation also occurs in front of Atmajaya University. “At 06:45, water floods the road in front of Atmajaya University heading to Semanggi area, we’re calling for road users to be cautious and careful,” said the Jakarta Metro Police on its official Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro, Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Water also submerges the inner ring road. "At 06:31, water inundates inner ring road (at the Kuningan-Cawang lane), but the road is still accessible," tweeted @TMCPoldaMetro.
