TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of middle and high school students hold a long march at Jalan Gatot Subroto tonight, September 25, at around 18:20, donning white-grey and scout uniforms.
"We're going to go to DPR [building] (House of Representatives)," said one of the students, saying he was from Depok who came with his friends. They intended to also stage a rally like the university students did yesterday.
As previously reported, the university students on September 23-24, held a demonstration at DPR building, protesting the ratification of KPK Law revision and Criminal Code draft bill (RUU KUHP).
The students shouted yells and chants while bringing flags tied at bamboo poles during the long march.
Meanwhile, the police personnel guarded the southern gate of the Jakarta Metro Police HQ where the students pass by. The groups of students created a traffic jam behind.
This groups came when other hundreds of students were dissolved by the police's tear gas from behind the parliament building as the response of the students throwing stones.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan reminded the students staging rally at the DPR to avoid criminal acts. The governor also instructed headmasters to monitor their students joining the demonstration.
