No Fear Over Assassination Attempt, Wiranto Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, said that he has no fear of being an assassination target by some groups that instigated the May 22 riot.
"[My] life is in the hands of God," Wiranto said during a press conference at his office on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
Wiranto said that the assassination attempt was intended to strike fear and to scare the supposed target. "But we are not like that," Wiranto asserted.
The former army commander added that despite the assassination threat, he and the other officials will continue to work hard in accordance to prevailing laws and procedures. "Our orientation is to safeguard the nations’ security," Wiranto said. He also hoped that the Police can thoroughly investigate the serious threat.
Chief of the National Police Gen. Tito Karnavian stated that four national figures targeted for the assassination are Wiranto, Luhut B. Panjaitan (Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs), Budi Gunawan (Chief of the National Intelligence Agency), and Gories Mere (Presidential Special Staff for Intelligence and Security). In addition to the four figures, Tito also mentioned the owner of a pollster, whose name he refused to disclose.
